COVID-19 pandemic
[edit]If the pandemic continues, WrestleMania 37 will be held in WWE ThunderDome on April! -St3095 (?) 07:33, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
- Well the pandemic is still ongoing, but they're pretty much holding it at Raymond James Stadium regardless. --JDC808 ♫ 07:39, 2 February 2021 (UTC)

Orphaned references in WrestleMania 37
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of WrestleMania 37's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Smackdown Wrestlemania
[edit]Since the Smackdown before Night 1 is being branded as part of Wrestlemania, shouldn’t it be added to the page along with its card? 71.50.216.143 (talk) 18:40, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
- No, for a couple of reasons. It's not being branded "as part of WrestleMania." It's being promoted as a "WrestleMania Edition" of SmackDown (essentially featuring matches that would be on the lowercard or pre-show of a WrestleMania, and just to further promote WrestleMania). Also, it's just a special episode of SmackDown. If anything, maybe a separate article for it, but not included here like you're suggesting because it's not another night for WrestleMania. It's part of WrestleMania Weekend, but not part of the event itself. --JDC808 ♫ 09:27, 4 April 2021 (UTC)
- I added a mention of the WrestleMania Edition of SmackDown to the Background section of the article but the show's card shouldn't be added to the article since it isn't being promoted as part of Mania, merely a preview show for Mania. Mt.FijiBoiz (talk) 00:35, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I agree with JDC on this, I took it as basically "this is what the WrestleMania pre-show was going to be before we decided to start the show with the World title and not have a pre-show". So I think the results should be listed before Night 1 as "WrestleMania SmackDown" (basically a Night 0, so to speak). Or at the very least like you said, it should get a standalone article like other special events, like NXT, AEW and Impact have gotten lately. My opinion is it should be in this article though. AEWFanboytalk 19:51, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
- Again, no, a full list of its results does not belong on this article. Regardless of how you take it or view it, it was not part of the WrestleMania 37 event itself. It was a separate show. Simple as that. WrestleMania 37 was a two-night event, not a three-night event. What's mentioned in the "Other WrestleMania Week events" section is enough for this article. --JDC808 ♫ 22:38, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
- Again, no, that is simply not true. You had WrestleMania SmackDown, WrestleMania Saturday and WrestleMania Sunday. A three day event, with the matches that were supposed to be on the pre-show (Andre the Giant, SmackDown Tag Team) taking place on that SmackDown. It's a pre-show to the main WrestleMania card... FYI we always include pre-show results... AEWFanboytalk 16:16, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- Do you have any reliable sources that call Smackdown part of WM or its preshow? Because this just sounds like WP:OR. — Czello 16:17, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- AEWFanboy, but it wasn't a pre-show. Like Czello asked, where was it ever said that it was a pre-show or actually part of WrestleMania 37 itself? "Preview" show, sure, kinda, but pre-show, no. In my original post here, I did say that the show was "essentially featuring matches that would be on the lowercard or pre-show of a WrestleMania," but that wasn't me saying it was the pre-show of WrestleMania 37. You are correct that we always include the pre-show results, but only when it's actually the pre-show of the event. --JDC808 ♫ 23:25, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- So then include it JDC808 ... AEWFanboytalk 18:37, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- AEWFanboy, what? That is literally the complete opposite of what I said. --JDC808 ♫ 08:06, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
SummerSlam (1990) has a small table of the SummerSlam Fever show. It's part of the topic, even if it's not part of the event itself. Would this perhaps be an appropriate solution? GaryColemanFan (talk) 05:02, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- That was more related than the go-home Smackdown, though. Plus, this is effectively the same end result. What it ultimately comes down to is that there's no justification for including the SmackDown results unless we have a RS that says it's part of WM. — Czello 06:36, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- According to who? Who say's SummerSlam Fever is more "SummerSlam" than WrestleMania SmackDown is "WrestleMania"? That sounds like WP:OR to me. I think it's a great solution. AEWFanboytalk 23:49, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
- It would equally be WP:OR to call this episode of SmackDown anything more than a standard go-home show. — Czello 07:07, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
- @AEWFanboy: According to WWE. Not once did they say that this SmackDown was actually part of WrestleMania 37 itself. I'm not sure why you keep trying to argue this. WrestleMania was only a two-night event (Saturday and Sunday), as stated as such by WWE (backed up by multiple RS's). "WrestleMania SmackDown" was just a special episode of SmackDown, nothing more. There is not one single RS that says that WrestleMania SmackDown was part of the actual WrestleMania 37 event. If it actually was part of WrestleMania, it would have been taped at Raymond James Stadium, not one week prior at the ThunderDome on April 2 and then aired on April 9. The only OR here is you continuously trying to say that this episode of SmackDown was part of the two-night WrestleMania 37 (again, WWE only promoted it as TWO nights, not THREE). --JDC808 ♫ 09:53, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
- I don't watch wrestling, so I don't know what happened at WrestleMania SmackDown (or WrestleMania for that matter). Was the SmackDown focused on promoting the storylines or featured wrestlers in the same manner as a SummerSlam Fever, Survivor Series Showdown, etc.? Based on the current state of the article, it seems like it's exactly that. If so, I haven't seen any reason mentioned above for not including a separate table of results alongside the "Other WrestleMania Week events" section. GaryColemanFan (talk) 13:11, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
- No. Smackdown is a weekly show (as is Monday Night Raw), and WrestleMania is an annual show. The show that AEWFanboy is talking about was the final broadcast show before WrestleMania, and so promoted the upcoming PPV -- but not in any notable way that it doesn't normally do every single year, for every monthly event (what's called a go-home show). Ultimately, it wasn't a part of WrestleMania and was just a regular weekly event that had a bit of extra marketing attached to it. — Czello 14:27, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
- Was it titled "WrestleMania SmackDown"? GaryColemanFan (talk) 02:21, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
- The branding is mixed. On the WWE Network it's simply titled Smackdown, but during the show they occasionally call it WrestleMania Smackdown. However, I don't think that should make any difference without a source that says it's a part of WrestleMania -- otherwise we'd have to say WrestleMania Backlash is a part of WrestleMania, too — Czello 07:30, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

- WrestleMania Backlash is the fallout from WrestleMania 37. Besides, it already has an article and is mentioned in aftermath section on this very article so mute point. And idk why you keep saying "occasionally" called it WrestleMania SmackDown when it was literally the only thing they called it. I see literally zero harm in giving it the SummerSlam Fever treatment. Not sure why this bugs you so much, you're making this a bigger deal than it really is. AEWFanboytalk 22:52, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
- Because it's not a part of WrestleMania, it was just a go-home show, the same as Raw. Them adding a bit of branding to it doesn't turn it into SummerSlam Fever. — Czello 07:10, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not hearing much in the way of discussion from you outside of "Because I said so". I'm inclined to think that a table in the "Other WrestleMania Week events" section would be appropriate. GaryColemanFan (talk) 15:45, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- You have it the wrong way round; It's not because I say it's not, but because there are no sources (that I've seen, at least) that say it is. — Czello 17:07, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not saying it's part of WrestleMania. I'm saying it appears to be a significant part of the buildup and promotion of WrestleMania. The name of the show, which you have acknowledged, makes this fairly clear. There seems to be absolutely no harm in including a small table in the "Other WrestleMania Week events" section, and it would make a useful and closely tied addition to that section. Is someone able to make a small table (something along the lines of the SummerSlam Fever table mentioned above) so we can see how it would look? GaryColemanFan (talk) 16:19, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Link to pinfall
[edit]Could you please add a link to pinfall in the results? Kurisumasen (talk) 11:48, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- I added it to the first use in each of the results tables. The tables aren't sortable, so it seemed unnecessary to add it for each match. GaryColemanFan (talk) 06:34, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- Good. I changed it so it can look like other pay-per-view events. Kurisumasen (talk) 23:15, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
