stub

[edit]

This articles is a stub. It is missing essential items such as, for example, a school infobox, a school crest, a photo, etc.--Kudpung (talk) 01:53, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also needed:

  1. Date of foundation and/or change from the grammar school  Done
  2. Was it a change of name, or was a completely new school installed in the premissess of the former boys and girls grammar schools? Done
  3. How does this affect alumni, especially David Frost? Done

Note that none of this info is available on the school's web site.--Kudpung (talk) 02:57, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note, links removed due to irrelevance to the school the article is about nor do they refer to anything in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wrenn-nmallard (talkcontribs) 08:59, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Also please note the logo as it stands on the page is correct and primary, the old crest is no longer in use, confirmed by the school administration, it's website and all necessary paperwork. Nmallard80 (talk) 10:14, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Logo/crest

[edit]

There's been some 'back-and-forth' editing regarding which version to use. WP:NFC only really allows us to use one - unless, perhaps, we use the new one and someone who knows the situation better than I do adds some content about the old one still being in wide use, which could justify including it too, with the critical commentary. The website(s) use the new one, but the uniforms pictured are the old one. I don't know if that's just because, obviously, everyone doesn't rush out and buy a new uniform and take new pictures as soon as the logo changes, or because the new one isn't on the uniforms.

I don't really care which is used, so long as we stop edit-warring over it - since

  • (a) edit-warring is a Bad ThingTM and
  • (b) I 'created' both files by uploading versions of them, so the image-bot wakes me up every time the image used is flipped and the other one is orphaned.

So, you folks who know more about the situation than I do, please discuss... -- Begoon 07:36, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Begoon; the new crest is indeed primary and as you correctly assume uniform has yet to be changed but will be in due course. New starters from September will have the new logo, and the old crest & signage has nearly entirely been removed from the school premises. The old logo is only used for historical/reference.
