This needs to be an article, and by the name World Music
This is in response to the above discussions plus a recent attempt to move the article. The term "World Music" is widely used and has extensive wp:notability. Yes, the term can be problematic, inconsistent and confusing, but that is more reason to cover it rather than a reason to not cover it. Sincerely, North8000 (talk) 15:58, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
I think there should be more direct mention of the view that it's problematic and the reasons, but apart from that I think it's fine, and if everyone stopped using the term tomorrow it would still warrant an article on what was a thing for several decades (essentially a marketing thing, but I think the article achieves a reasonable balance of making it clear that it's a marketing thing without being too sniffy about it) Scatterkeir (talk) 00:19, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
