Assess : newly added and existing articles, maybe nominate some good B-class articles for GA; independently assess some as A-class, regardless of GA status.
Cleanup : * Sport governing body (this should-be-major article is in a shameful state) * Field hockey (History section needs sources and accurate information - very vague at the moment.) * Standardize Category:American college sports infobox templates to use same font size and spacing. * Sport in the United Kingdom - the Popularity section is incorrect and unsourced. Reliable data is required.
* Fix project template and/or "to do list" Current version causes tables of content to be hidden unless/until reader chooses "show."

– The current arrangement maybe worked when women's rugby was a fringe sport, although I do not understand why Rugby Union was regarded as the primary topic for a rugby related topic. Anyway, nowadays the men's and women's games both receiving major coverage, and Rugby Union does not swamp Rugby League; so it seems to me that Rugby World Cup should now be a disambiguation page for all the various options now offered on World cup of rugby. This is consistent with the use of Rugby as a disambiguation page for all the different forms of the game. If Rugby does not default to men's rugby union, why should Rugby World Cup do so?MrStoofer (talk) 11:51, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose - Whether we like it or not, the main topic for the term "Rugby World Cup" is still the men's rugby union tournament. Rugby league is playing its World Cups right now, as is women's rugby union, so they'll naturally have more attention for the next couple of weeks, but I don't see that being a permanent thing. Rugby union is bigger than rugby league worldwide, and the men's game is bigger than the women's. – PeeJay21:04, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose As of now, the majority of coverage still relates to the men's tournament, so while this is the case, Rugby World Cup should remain in relation to the men's tournament, this may change in the future as the women's game grows, but for now it should remain. The rugby league world cup is literally known as the Rugby League World Cup. The tournament itself even uses that stylisation, so there should be no confusion there either. Comment "This is consistent with the use of Rugby as a disambiguation page for all the different forms of the game" See here's the problem. There isn't a "the game". League and union are separate sports, this page and all the other similar ill-conceived pages are unnecessary and more importantly misleading to the reader. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Local Potentate (talk • contribs) 02:06, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So you do understand that these are two separate sports, just like any other two separate sports, or not? This page has no purpose or value, except to reinforce the misconception that league and union are two varieties of the same sport, similar to T20 and ODI cricket. SO the RWC should have a page called that, the RLWC a page called that, and if necessary one page each "Rugby union/league world cups" and this page deleted. Oppose the men's rugby union world cup is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and hatnotes to the women's rugby union and men's rugby league tournaments is fine. Also if moved, should be to Rugby World Cup (men) to be consistent with the women's tournament. The union tournament calls itself "Rugby World Cup" whereas Rugby League doesn't, so it isn't an ambiguous name. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:33, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - agree with Bagumba. The two Rugby World Cups for rugby union should have consistent titles. I'd prefer Rugby World Cup (men) and Rugby World Cup (women), I don't see the need to have "rugby union" in the disambiguation for these two competitions.Bcp67 (talk) 10:50, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
