Notability
[edit]To the best of my knowledge, WNUSP is a fairly large organization, and I can verify it IS world-wide. I will alert them to their lack of notoriety on wikipedia. One problem with organizing psychiatric survivors and having them and their orgs achieve 'notability' is that when an individual recovers from mental illness by alternate means, they can 'pass' in society as someone who has never been labeled as having a psychiatric disease. This is an advantage due to the tremendous bias in society about mental illness. It would be sad if wikipedia engaged in a campaign to prove that psychiatric survivor organizations like the WNUSP aren't notable... this would be like one of the subplots of Nineteen_Eighty-Four.Padraic10441 01:43, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've added sources & removed the tags. Ideally the original tagger could have Googled the name or followed some of the external links, doesn't take long to find sources on membership and official involvement in the United Nations and international legislation, not that that level of influence is even required.
