Youth teams
[edit]Provisionally I intend to cover all the teams events in the WBF Youth program here. After the 2nd World Youth Congress (2011) and 2nd World Bridge Games (2012) it will be easier to see (dis)continuity, and to re-section this article or write some new ones where appropriate. --P64 (talk) 15:01, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yesterday I started major expansion of this article and the companion World Junior Pairs Championship. They retain their limited "Junior Championship" titles without any redirects.
- Provisionally I will cover all the teams events in the WBF Youth program here. Provisionally I will include world events for young that are not in the WBF Youth program —such as the University Teams.
- After the 2nd World Youth Congress (August 2011) and 2nd World Bridge Games (August 2012) are in the books, meaning the WBF website database, it will be easier to see continuity and (dis)continuity, and to re-section this article or write some new ones where appropriate. --P64 (talk) 20:00, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Teams events in the 2nd World Youth Congress are underway. The final of the main event for teams is tomorrow (Friday); the main event for pairs begins Sunday. (select "Results")
- In this article, the new section Scope and new hatnote explain the WBF youth program with emphasis on allocation of its coverage here and to the companion World Junior Pairs Championship. --P64 (talk) 18:42, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Teams and their players
[edit]Alone among major world tournaments (if any Youth championships may be called major), I have not identified the players on all the Medalist teams. Instead the later tournaments —beginning Juniors 2008, plus Youngsters and Girls— display team data in several styles that differ by completeness and format: Full names or surnames only? Capitalized or uppercase surnames? Gold medalists or all three medalists?
I solicit comment. --P64 (talk) 22:07, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
2012
[edit]reference: Kaplan is USA 1 for U21 world championship (2011-11-08). Bridge Winners.
This notice of the USBC final locates the world tournament in Shanghai. (to be continued after WMSG announcement expected next week) --P64 (talk) 22:04, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
