When discussing how many times someone has been world champion, one needs to be clear on: a). What belt it was at? only include black belt titles. b). What organisation was it? The CBJJ/IBJJF Mundials are THE World Championships, distinguish titles from those of the CBJJE Mundials or CBJJO Copa do Mundo. c). Was it gi or no gi? The CBJJ no gi mundials are a seperate competition with a generally lower depth of competition, distinguish between gi and no gi mundials titles. d). Did they close out a final with someone, e.g. teammates Robert Drysdale and Rodrigo "Comprido" both claim the 2006 Copa do Mundo super pesado title (which they closed out), but only one of them got the gold (Comprido).
For example Robson Moura is often called a 7 time world champion, but only 5 of those are black belt CBJJ Mundials titles, one is a purple belt CBJJ Mundials title adn the other is a black belt Copa do Mundo title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by J Sho (talk • contribs) 03:53, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
What should we do with champions that were stripped of their title due to doping?
[edit]I saw the blank spaces within the champions list and thought it was vandalism. I was prepared to revert the changes and then I realized that the removed winners were Pena and Estima, whose titles were stripped by the IBJJF. I am somehow hesitant to leave the spaces blank, should we fill them with the silver medalists maybe? Make some sort of statement withint the list like -title stripped- ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Etchubykalo (talk • contribs) 09:08, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
