Merger proposal
[edit]I propose that World Boxing Super Series I be merged into World Boxing Super Series. I think that the content in the World Boxing Super Series I article is basically the same as the older World Boxing Super Series, which also has links to additional articles that are linked, such as 2017–18 World Boxing Super Series – super middleweight division and 2017–18 World Boxing Super Series – cruiserweight division SethWhales talk 19:23, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- World Boxing Super Series I is an article relating to its first season which I'm going to update and build its information today. The World Boxing Super Series I'm guessing should be the main article for the competition. Kidsoljah (talk) 19:37, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- Support - I think this was already discussed second hand at Talk:World Boxing Super Series. As of right now, we only have one WBSS with two divisions and there are some questions on if there will be another in the future. Even if we assume there will be a WBSS II, III, etc., I don't see the value in the base article WBSS I. We already have the overall WBSS article and then the two tournament pages. At best we should have the WBSS I page or alternatively the individual tournament pages, but not both. I think the individual tournament pages are better in that they give more focused information and in time will become quite lengthy. In future seasons, I think that individual tournament pages are the way to go and not overall seasons. And for one more reason I don't like the WBSS I article is we don't yet know in the future if they will run seasons. There may be significant overlap (e.g., start of a "new season" or qualifier bout is on undercard of final of the "last season") so may be hard to say when one ends and one beings. As we saw with the Super Six World Boxing Classic, injuries can run havoc on a tournament, so seasons may bleed into others. I just think this gets too messy for an organization in its infancy. Besides, I don't see the need for two tournaments of 14 bouts having four separate pages.RonSigPi (talk) 20:07, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
- I agree...if in years to come there are other events, then we should carry on as in 2017-18 by having a separate article for each year and weight division, for example 2018-19 World Boxing Super Series – heavyweight division or 2018-19 World Boxing Super Series – welterweight division etc. Having separate articles for each year as well such as World Boxing Super Series II etc really is superfluous. - Okay, I understand your points, they're valid. I will support the merge. Kidsoljah (talk) 20:53, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

- Support Agree that each tournament should have its own article, with the main page linking to each of them. All the information on this page has been moved to the relevant articles, so it can probably be deleted now.Fpwlada (talk) 15:29, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
