Chiaffalo
[edit]I realize that it would make sense to merge the page with the world's largest buffalo page, but doing so now would only pollute that page. The Chiaffalo will eventually need a page of its own and in my opinion, this should happen right away instead of later. Idontsteal (talk · contribs)
- I actually disagree that the Chiaffalo will ever need its own page. --MatthewUND(talk) 22:53, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
I would be interested in knowing why you feel this way. I know for a fact that the amount of information about the Chiaffalo will be very extensive, including the techniques that will be used to "Chia-ize" the buffalo. I think that this will eventually justify its own page. Idontsteal (talk · contribs)
I specifically created the Chiaffalo page separately from the World's Largest Buffalo page because Chiaffalo is an art project. I did originally consider the Chiaffalo page as an amendment to the World's Largest Buffalo page, but felt it would be inappropriate to merge the pages just as it would be inappropriate to merge the page on da Vinci's Mona Lisa with the page on the Louvre.Nakedtimetravel 04:33, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- I still think the Chiaffalo project does not warrant its own article. This is a grassroots project that "has not been officially endorsed by the city of Jamestown or any other organization". The comparison to the Mona Lisa/Louvre is silly. The Mona Lisa and the Louvre are two entirely different items so obviously they deserve their own articles. However, if someone decided to make the Louvre into a chia-Louvre, that information would go directly into the Louvre article...there wouldn't be any need to create a specific chia-Louvre article. From what I have found, there doesn't seem to even be any guarantee that this project will ever happen and, even if it does, I assume it will only be a temporary project. As far as statements such as "There have been two letters to the editor written about the Chiaffalo. One was published in the Jamestown Sun and the other was published in the Jamestown College Collegian, which was also circulated in the Jamestown Sun." and "Several social networking groups have also sprouted in support of the Chiaffalo project."...who cares? This information is not encyclopedic. --MatthewUND(talk) 07:53, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia isn't your personal website, and from what I see in the notability requirements for this article, it does meet them. Pages on this site don't just make themselves, and it would be helpful it you let people add information to it so that it can be made better. You've obviously done a lot of work on this site, so why not let others help with it, too? This isn't a joke and if you want something added to the article, then add it. Just because you didn't write it, doesn't mean that it can't be written at all. Have some respect.Idontsteal (talk · contribs)
