This article previously claimed Eric's condition is caused by adrenaline. In the third episode of series 3 Eric stated that he thinks it is adrenaline, though he does not say so with certainty, as it happens when he is hot or excited. In the first two series it is caused by the mind power of his sister Emily who wanted a dog but it stopped after he got her a puppy. However, it started again when his best friend Roy wanted him as a dog.
Eric stopped turning into a dog after Roy moved to Amsterdam with his family but he started again after being bitten by an insect. This is not in the final cut of the TV show but is in the novelization of series 2 (Woof! the Tale Wags On) by screenwriter Andrew Norriss. Tk420 (talk) 13:57, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
