I hope that the term 'cis' will not confuse the reader. The title is correct, and is the most referred to name of this reaction. Maybe we can link the first occurance of the word 'cis' to some article about ring stereochemistry, if it even exists. A short one- or two-sentence explaination would also work. Jerry March tells me that the Prevost reaction is driven by anchimeric assistance towards anti hydroxylation and that in Woodward cis-hydroxylation anchimeric assistance is prevented resulting in cis hydroxylation. The current article states otherwise V8rik 20:16, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
