References needed
[edit]This article and the articles on Fania Fénelon, Anita Lasker-Wallfisch and Alma Rosé are all very short on independent authoritative references. Of the few sources mentioned that might be cited more extensively, most are first person accounts, one of them novelized, giving the persons and events the aura of legend rather than historical fact. 96.35.175.244 (talk) 13:35, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
cleanup of this page
[edit]Hey There, This page is in need of some serious cleanup and wikification. I attempted some of that on my edit today. I just want to document and clarify what I'm doing: I changed the name of "references" to "List of Relevant Books". Some of the books listed are historical dramas not exactly worthy of encyclopedic citation. However, they are Relevant Books. Also they are not references because they are not referred to anywhere in the article. I removed the redundant notes section and deleted the quote for the one reference which is adequately described in the main text. I deleted the media section, which contained what appeared to be a list of three radio appearances relevant to this subject. They contributed nothing to the article and followed by references to the external links, which did not contain information relevant to the radio appearances. I deleted the unclear reference tag and replaced it with refimprove. I also added an "overly detailed" tag and put these in a multiple issues tag. I added an "essay-like" tag to the Novels section (which I renamed because it never addressed the "drama" element of the former title. I also removed some of the essay-like elements (eg 'no one doubts her unsparing analysis'). I added "list of" to the headings for the members and films sections because unlike the "dramas and novels" section, these two sections lack encyclopedic treatment of the subjects and rather list material.
Please discuss. Johnathlon (talk) 21:17, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Sources
[edit]For years, the article has contained a list of unsourced orchestra members' names. I intend to remove any unsourced names and descriptions soonish, so if anyone is able to add sources, now is the time to do it. Many thanks, SarahSV (talk) 03:55, 26 May 2019 (UTC)
