I was planning on creating an article for the 2015 competition, but there is such a lack of sources for this year that it makes me wonder if it really happened. The only references I have found are: Coral Women's Challenge Cup Semi-Final Preview, Coral Women's Rugby League Challenge Cup , and Coral Women's Challenge Cup - new trophy for Rugby League which notes the winners are engraved on the trophy - so confirm the teams in the final - but nothing about how they got there. An article from 2016 Women's Rugby League set for 'biggest day' notes Leigh MR to have won the shield the previous year. However, the picture appears to be from the league play-offs plate final (Miners too good for Brighouse) rather than the Challenge Shield. Having made a search of several websites and archives of them, it appears that in 2015 the "womens round up" articles on rugby-league,com and on websites such as TotalRL.com and 4theloveofsport.co.uk there is no mention of the Challenge Cup or Shield at the time, also webpages for clubs that would have taken part such as Featherstone do not have any cup results listed. Are their any mentions of the competition in other sources such as local newspapers from the time - I have checked a few but found nothing in them. EdwardUK (talk) 01:45, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seen as the RFL have listed the final on those lists (mutiple), I can't see the tournament not having actually happened. Maybe a shortened altered format? A strange one to say the least. Mn1548 (talk) 21:33, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
