[edit]Longest unaltered note held by a soloist in a number-one song: It is true that in this song Barbra Streisand holds the mentioned note for just over 10 seconds. It is not true that Whitney Houston has surpassed this in her version for "I Will Always Love You". I just listened to that song, and the longest Ms. Houston holds a single note unaltered is ~5 seconds. This is a verifiable fact (listen to the songs), and is not to meant to cause inferences of my opinions of the two ladies' vocal abilities or music style preferences. Please verify and correct the entry. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.6.0.247 (talk) 10:59, 25 December 2010 (UTC)
longest unaltered note held by a soloist in a number one song
[edit]Does soloist mean the person singing it whether or not they're in a group? Because that would disqualify Air Supply and even if it doesn't, Air Supply's "All Out Of Love" peaked at number 2 Lovely Day peaked at number 30 Dim All the Lights peaked at number 2
If it was corrected by Kasem, it was likely because he said it was a top 40 or "hit" song and not a number one, as at the time, "Woman In Love" would have held the record for a number one with the longest unaltered note. Considering there is no citation, it is possible this is a misquote.
This record was only beaten in 1989 with Sheriff's "When I'm With You" which did hit number 1 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.240.176.239 (talk) 12:14, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Another cover
[edit]I don't have the skills to do this myself, but I have just seen a version of this song performed by Twiggy in 1977. Would anyone be able to add this version, even though it's not a great cover, I feel it would add to this wiki. Thanks. 87.115.183.106 (talk) 19:50, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
