I have been watching this one for some time. I will leave some initial comments within 48 hours and mainly focus on copyediting issues. Thanks! ☠ Jaguar ☠ 20:21, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Initial comments
[edit]Lead
[edit]- "He rose to prominence with his song "Holla at Your Boy" - in what year did he rise to prominence?
- The lead could be better organised and summarised in order for it to comply per WP:LEAD. The first paragraph doesn't mention his personal life or his rise to fame and most of it is comprised of his awards/nominations. I would suggest to look at the leads of other musician GAs and see what content they use in order for this to meet the GA criteria.
Life and career
[edit]- You could implement some of the early life career section into the lead, for example the lead doesn't mention that he started singing at the age of 11
- "He comes from a large family and is the last of six children." - youngest?
- "The group successfully dropped an album prior to dismembering" - successfully dropped? Makes it sound like the album was never released?
- "at Disturbing London's Headquarters in London" - seems obvious, how about at Disturbing Headquarters in London
- Be careful of WP:OVERLINKING in some parts of this section
- "Wizkid signed a one year endorsement deal with Pepsi allegedly worth $350,000 U.S dollars" - already shows the dollar symbol, no need to explain that it's US dollars!
Breakup and reunion with E.M.E
[edit]- "Furthermore, it was reported that troubles within E.M.E started as early as the E.M.E all stars concert" - when was the concert?
- "It was also reported that money was at the center of the controversy" - if this article uses British Spelling (which it mostly does), then centre
Awards and nominations
[edit]- The list appears incomplete due to a "this list is incomplete" template!
- It would be worth collapsing this list per WP:MOS due to its disproportionate length?
References
[edit]- There are no dead refs and the citations are in the correct places, so this meets the GA criteria.
On hold
[edit]This article has seen improvements since its last GAN and is closer to becoming GA. The only problems that stands in its way is the organisation/content of the lead and some minor copyediting issues, however other than that the article is comprehensive and the references seem reliable. I'll put this on hold for seven days until improvements are made. Thanks ☠ Jaguar ☠ 18:05, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Jaguar: I will make the necessary changes you mentioned. What do you mean by collapsing the awards and nominations section? Do you want me to remove the incomplete template from the section? Versace1608 (Talk) 18:42, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant that 'hiding' the entire awards and nominations table into a collapsible list (some musicians have this), but it's not a big deal. It shouldn't affect the GAN anyway! ☠ Jaguar ☠ 20:34, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
Close - promoted
[edit]Thank you for your quick response and improvements, I believe that the article now meets the GA criteria. It is generally well written, comprehensive and all the references are in check. The awards and nominations section shouldn't be a problem, maybe I was being too sceptical. The prose and syntax (especially in the lead) has improved and the article now has its long deserved GA status. Well done! ☠ Jaguar ☠ 20:34, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. I appreciate your input. Versace1608 (Talk) 20:52, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
