Young Turk?
[edit]Why is Dale Bumpers referred to as a Young Turk? Follow the wiki and read the article. It makes no sense.ColinKennedy 16:47, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
From your link - Since this time "Young Turk" has also been used to signify any groups or individuals inside an organisation who are more progressive, seek prominence and power.[1] [2] Thats why he is referred to as a Young Turk. Duh.
Edits by Billy Hathorn
[edit]Edits made May 4th by Billy Hathorn appear questionable. Certainly the changes to case (President->president, etc.) and additions and removals of dates and links are inaccurate and should be reverted. I'm writing here, actually, to suggest reverting the entire block of edits. The unsourced reference to "James D. Johnson" doesn't match even the page that Billy Hathorn created. Connection with Bill Clinton?
[edit]The article currently says "He was once recognized as the single most important influence of William Jefferson Clinton who himself became governor before being elected to the White House." This factoid has been "fact"-tagged for nearly a year. There's no mention of Win Rockefeller in the Bill Clinton article. I believe it's time to remove this fact as unsupported. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HughGRex (talk • contribs) 18:32, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

New lede 31/7/20
[edit]I defined his status as a grandson of John D. Rockefeller. SNUGGUMS reverted this, saying he doesn't see a need to single-out a grandfather, and replaced it with the names of the parents. I think the lede is actually the right place to single-out the most notable relative, to establish notability by association. The full names and details of the parents follow immediately at the opening of the article proper. Valetude (talk) 22:48, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- It's not like Winthrop's grandfather is the connection he's most prominently affiliated with. If not parents, then I'd say it most likely is brother Nelson, who went into politics like he did and there's the "five Rockefeller brothers" connection that both are part of.
