Where did you come up with that history? In an tedious search, I found no history what-so-ever of a man (or woman) named "Jean-Pierre Sebastien a la King".

I did however, find it funny that you went with the fictional person's lively hood as a canned chicken mogul, tying the last part of his name up with chickens.... CHICKEN A LA KING very nice!!! Then to top it off with an URBAN LEGEND style cause of death for him was near genius!!! It becomes all too easy for the weak-minded to believe semi-related, but ironic causes for sickness, death, and many other now debunked myths. For instance, a popular related but ironic death was famed naturist Yule Gibbons who was known for eating certain parts of pine trees and grasses and other raw items found outdoors, died of 'locked bowels'. Of course, that is a classic Urban Legend. But, people will believe almost anything if it makes even a little bit of sense. In some cases, irony confuses people just enough to throw common sense out the window.

As for the history of Winner, I will get the exact date it become incorporated and why it was actually founded in the position it is. If memory serves, (and it usually doesn't) I think it had to do with the planned railroad route.

I have heard some good fables about the start of Winner. One was that there was a range war between the locals fighting over the location of the tiny courthouse. The Guys on the north side Won... Hence the name "Winner". Another story was similar to that, but having to do with a "winning" court battle and the Winners had to sneak four miles south of the settlement late at night to steal the courthouse and bring it to it's current location. I'm sure the stories are much better than actual facts.

Demographics

[edit]

This page has a ridiculously long, useless demographics section. anyone agree? PS. Nerdfighter commune!!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.8.148.156 (talk) 23:58, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

I removed a joke that the Vlogbrothers put on the page. The link that must have explained the reference is dead. Regardless, no more free publicity for the Brothers Vlog. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.250.215.150 (talk) 01:39, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Website

[edit]

Error in 'External links' section. The link for 'City website' opens to show a 2009 Japanese language webpage, which appears to be about "Massage in foreign cultures" (foreign to the Japanese, that is). Nothing TOO risqué on the page as far as I can make out, but I think this link needs to be redirected! :-D Many thanks. VapourGhost (talk) 09:02, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notice. I fixed it to point to the correct page. It should have been a .org instead of a .com. sdgjake (talk) 15:44, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
