Do not Delete

[edit]

I am concerned that this entry for free-and-open-source software is slated for deletion while equivalent paying software or freeware entries are not.

For me it is notable because it belongs to that same category of software "disk analysis for windows" but is open source, unlike SequoiaView and TreeSize both of which have entries in Wikipedia.

It doesn't matter that it's open source, and it doesn't matter that you think it's notable. What matters is whether it is notable by Wikipedia's definition of that word. Svick (talk) 17:05, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have updated the page with proper citations and multiple editorial reviews along with a note on the software's widespread use. Hopefully this covers it as notable. Let me know. Bondrake (talk) 19:29, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You should then comment on this article's AfD. Svick (talk) 19:44, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done, thanks! Bondrake (talk) 19:48, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I had added some reasons why i think it's very noteable to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Disk_space_analyzer If the list of Windows disk space analyzers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_space_analyzer#List_of_disk_space_analyzers should be made shorter, then the best candidate to remove would be http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Scanner_%28software%29 imho. Format of ==reception==??

I always see the ==reception== section as each review seperated in its own alinea but just as plain text with quote marks (" "). In this article the {{|quote ..........}} function was used, so i replaced it with quotation marks. Not sure if there is a official guideline about this?

Example: This old revision compared to the current revision:

WinDirStat trojan version

[edit]

At some point and from some source there has been a Trojan horse (computing) version of this software. Please see here: WinDirStat detected as Trojan and rightly so.פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 16:58, 12 July 2018 (UTC) See also here: Virus removal WinDirStat.exe פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 17:04, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

credit to creator of tree view not given

[edit]

I don't remember who invented the tree view but there is a wp article about him somewhere here. I first saw it in open source SeqoyaView software. פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 17:01, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The link in the infobox is currently pointing at altWinDirStat, not WinDirStat itself, which should probably be changed or noted of. --YellowAfterlife (talk) 16:05, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
