Operator

[edit]

The article's infobox used to say that the facility is operated by Bombardier. This seems dubious given that Metrolinx has at least 100 employees at the site. There appears to be no online reference saying that Bombardier is the operator of the site. Bombardier has a contract to operate and maintain GO trains. However, Metrolinx has a least 100 unionized employees at the site that are members of ATU Local 1587. Thus, Metrolinx is probably the "operator" of the site with contracted services from Bombardier for maintenance. Apparently, Bombardier is the "operator" of trains along GO lines. I wouldn't be surprised if Bombardier was, but equally wouldn't be if it wasn't. Barring anything definitive it should probably be left blank since it should be clear from the rest of the article that it is used for GO servicing. Julius177 (talk) 21:04, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request to rename article

[edit]

This is a request to rename the article from Willowbrook Yard to Willowbrook Rail Maintenance Facility, which apparently is the official name of the facility as per this Metrolinx article and this one, and there are others. The facility is much more than just a yard. The renaming would make this article consistent with the article Whitby Rail Maintenance Facility with respect to article naming. Please advise. No objection. Willowbrook Yard seems to be more of an informal/historical name and the official name seems most appropriate here. Julius177 (talk) 22:03, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
