NZETC source
[edit]Just a word of warning that many details in the NZETC source are wrong. I'm guessing here that since Wilson became a persona non grata in 1876, nothing much was recorded about him from then on. So when they wrote the 1903 encyclopaedia, they had to rely on people's memory, and that didn't work. There doesn't appear to be an obituary for Wilson, just a brief death notice in the newspaper - strange for a former mayor. But it shows that his fraud case destroyed his reputation.
