Queen's Rembrancer and Master in the Court of Exchequer

[edit]

Cricket was a *very* minor part of Sir William Henry Walton's life. This article should be renamed and the legal and other aspects of his life covered. Also the souces at the Cricket Archive are subscription only. 'Walton, (Sir) William Henry, s. William, of St. George's, Bloomsbury, Middlesex, arm. Brasenose Coll., matric. 1 April, 1818, aged 18; B.A. 1822, M.A. 1824, bar.-at-law, Inner Temple, 1836, sometime Queen's remembrancer and master in Pleas Office, Exchequer, knighted 13 May, 1875, died 23 Nov., 1882. See Eton School Lists.' This would be a good starting place: "Alumni Oxoniensis (1715-1886)". and I quote:

Walton, (Sir) William Henry, s. William, of St. George's, Bloomsbury, Middlesex, arm. Brasenose Coll., matric. 1 April, 1818, aged 18; B.A. 1822, M.A. 1824, bar.-at-law, Inner Temple, 1836, sometime Queen's remembrancer and master in Pleas Office, Exchequer, knighted 13 May, 1875, died 23 Nov., 1882. See Eton School Lists.

He was also first Chairman of Surbiton Improvement Commissioners. So lots to cover of a non-sporting nature. Lozleader (talk) 10:41, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
