In June 2022 this article has been very much improved by a spurt of very valuable additions and corrections by the eminent Wikipedian User:Robinvp11 who brought in is indiscutable expertise in military history and many other matters (he has a degree in History and Politics). However, he also changed the layout of this essentially biographical article from a succession of 7 sections leading from "Birth and origins" to "Irish wars and Death" to a new structure consisting of sections "Personal details" and "Career", with subsections "The Netherlands" and "Ireland 1627 to 1642" under "Career". This has the advantage of giving some depth to the previously flat structure. However, I would feel that a "from birth to death" structure is prescribed by MOS:CHRONOLOGICAL, which states "In general, present a biography in chronological order, from birth to death". I was tempted to boldly re-establish the previous layout but not being a very experienced editor and lacking academic background, I thought I should consult and see what more experienced and knowledgable Wikipedians have to say. With many thanks and best regards, Johannes Schade (talk) 09:50, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The article still follows a clear chronological order, I've just simplified the section heads, while putting "Personal details" first ties into the Infobox layout and follows a convention widely used elsewhere in Wikipedia. I'm not sure what the problem is. Robinvp11 (talk) 10:58, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
