William miller should chose acting
[edit]William should become an actor because in Oliver twist he was amazing i do not like the old films but the BBC Christmas adaptation was grate. William has talent in acting and his family are also into the acting career as well so i think he should chooses to stay as a actor. i mist the first 3 parts of Oliver twist and it annoyed me so i went on youtube and found it i was glad. he is brilliant for a first time actor and he should crayon in acting. some people have said he has the cute factor.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.175.54 (talk) 13:25, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved to William Miller (actor, born 1996). Also created a dab page at William Miller (actor) and fixed incoming links. Added a William Miller (footballer, born 1996) redirect for completeness. — JFG talk 05:18, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
William Miller (actor) → ? – Current tile is ambiguous with William Miller (actor, born 1978) and Billy Miller (actor), however his last acting credit was six years ago and it seems like he's currently best known as a professional footballer. Possibilities include William Miller (actor, born 1996), William Miller (footballer, born 1996) or William Finn Miller. PC78 (talk) 11:21, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- I just added the 1978 actor to the hatnote, even though he gets only a tiny fraction of this article's pageviews. As long both other actors are in the hatnote, I don't see any pressing need for a move, but I'm not opposed if anyone else thinks it's needed. The suggested names would be good redirects, though.Station1 (talk) 20:09, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
- To be fair the 1978 actor's article is only recently created so page view data won't be very useful in that case, however I don't think that the child actor/footballer gets enough page views to have "primary" use of this term, especially compared with the more popular Billy Miller. [1] Of the suggested titles I think William Finn Miller is the least problematic as it doesn't favour either of his chosen careers and isn't lumbered with a clunky disambiguator. - Good point about the '78' article being new; I hadn't noticed that. If those pageviews go up significantly over the next few months, I would favor a move. My gut tells me they won't, but that could easily be wrong. As to Billy, pointing William Miller (actor) to the William Miller dab page where a reader would have to find Billy, as opposed to the current article where Billy's in the hatnote, wouldn't make much difference in my opinion (I think very few readers looking for Billy are likely to mistakenly land on William in the first place). If this article were to be moved, I agree that William Finn Miller would be the best choice for the reasons you state, provided that there are reliable sources that refer to him by that name at least occasionally. - Support William Miller (actor, born 1996) or William Miller (actor & footballer). Leaning the second. Has to be better disambiguated somehow. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 05:00, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- I find three of the references are broken links, and the fourth doesn't mention his middle name. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 05:01, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- I've found a few sources for his full name, including this Variety review. PC78 (talk) 16:33, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

- Support William Miller (actor, born 1996), thus providing analogous disambiguation from William Miller (actor, born 1978). William Miller (actor and footballer) would also be acceptable as second choice. Either is preferable to the incomplete dab qualifier "(actor)". If William Miller (actor and footballer) is chosen, the analogous qualifier for William Miller (actor, born 1978) would be William Miller (actor and rock musician) —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 18:04, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- Support William Miller (actor, born 1996) since it's analogous to William Miller (actor, born 1978). I don't think he's (as) notable for his football career, and we don't need to list all his careers in the dab anyway. I'm opposed to William Finn Miller unless there's sources calling him that. Per WP:NATURAL, while it's an alternative name, it would also have to be a name
that the subject is also commonly called in English reliable sources, albeit not as commonly as the preferred-but-ambiguous title
. William Miller (actor) should be an {{R from incomplete disambiguation}} to William Miller#Film and television. -- Tavix (talk) 22:33, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
