An article on Sir William Martyn of Athelhampton, UK, in Dorset, was the Mayor of London. See web site at dorset-ancestors.com There were two William Martyns and in studying the history of my ancestor, from Dorset, it is clear that he was NOT the Mayor of London. Please delete that reference. They have similar life spans, but they are not the same persons.

Proposal
[edit]I intend to move the current article to William Martin (Athelhampton) - since it is mostly about that man. I intend to create a new stub article to cover the High Sheriff of London, Lord Mayor of London, KB, since that is a second distinct person - where little is known about his origins. Please comment here as soon as possible. Please see: https://dorset-ancestors.com/?cat=320 Thanks. Icairns 2 (talk) 08:29, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
I've cut and pasted the genealogy here - so that it can be fixed Icairns 2 (talk) 10:58, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
