[edit]The article says Gwin was denied re-election in 1855 and re-elected in 1857, but doesn't make clear that apparently the seat was simply left vacant until he regained it in 1857 -- though that does appear to have been the case. I think calling the 1857 act a "re-election" doesn't fully explain what happened. ak4mc (talk) 18:00, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
