Expansion

[edit]

I'm beginning an expansion of this article. I have removed these two external links as essentially useless, but preserving them here in case anyone disagrees.

Images

[edit]

We've got to track down a better version of Image:Philip Herbert 4th Earl of Pembroke c 1615.jpg! This is the only version I have ever seen, though Strong discusses the painting in the FMR article. - PKM (talk) 04:27, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

<Bangs self on head> This is a tipped-in plate in English Icon. - PKM (talk) 23:06, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I replaced it, but the print quality of images in Icon is not spectacular. - PKM (talk) 23:37, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYK Nom

[edit]

I have nominated this for DYK - if anyone has a better hook, please post it there! - PKM (talk) 21:03, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To-do

[edit]
  • This article needs a discussion of the two trends in Jacobean painting, the "retrogressive" one pointing back to Elizabethan styles and the "psychological" one of Inigo Jones etc., pointing forward to Anthony Van Dyck, and Larkin's place in those trends. Still mulling over where and how to include that (probably a new subhead "Critical assessment" under "Works"). If anyone wants to tackle that, go for it.
  • I want to expand the gallery but not use everything in the Commons, therefore I need to add more images to the Commons.

Whoops, thanks for catching that. - PKM (talk) 20:49, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well done
