I have been a happy devotee of your sage wisdom for many decades.
I have have my retirement funds in
Vanguard and began taking the RMD two years ago when I turned 72.
This year I requested my RMD as early in the new year as possible. On January 5 the funds were transferred into my bank account. A substantial amount was transferred to the IRS to cover taxes. Then, on the 17th of January, an automatic RMD deposit was made, apparently unnoticed that the transfer had already been made . A large amount went to the IRS. Vanguard tells me that they can reverse the transfer, except for the amount paid to the IRS.
WOW. What’s going on. And every time that I go online with Vanguard they relentlessly advertise their advisors to help me make investment decisions, something that I have never had any interest in. I’m interested in your thoughts and perspectives about dealing with Vanguard. Ouch! 71.167.228.190 (talk) 19:40, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
