Note
[edit]While this is identified as Huntsville's first public high school for African Americams, its namesake founded Lincoln School which became Lincoln Normal School and preceded Alabama A&M (which had its own high school). I suppose Lincoln was a religiously affiliated and funded school but some clarification of the history of educational institutions for African Americams in Huntsville would be helpful. I noticed that Alabama A&M excludes its roots to the earlier Lincoln School instead beginning with the state establishing its Normal School predecessor in 1875. It seeks to have had more humble beginnings. FloridaArmy (talk) 15:02, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
