Would his music be charcterized as incidental music to these plays, or were they musicals? If the former, we should say so. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:18, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zaza

[edit]

I removed this one because the actual music used for the production indicates it was composed by Manuel Klein. -- kosboot (talk) 04:16, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I guess the obit is wrong. Maybe they got confused because it played together with DuBarry. I also took out the other three, since a google search on each of them couldn't find any connection with Furst other than the Times obit. Someone can always add them back if they turn out to have his incidental music, but we may as well be conservative. -- Ssilvers (talk) 06:07, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I bet he was the conductor and the obit got it confused. Someday (famous words) I'll try to check the program. -- kosboot (talk) 20:42, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confederate army?

[edit]

According to an article, Furst enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1861. Being that he would have been 9 years old, it seems that the source is suspect: Sylvan Schenthal, "Correspondence: Baltimore, M.D.," Billboard (Dec. 6, 1902), p.28.. - kosboot (talk) 19:28, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
