[edit]The system is locked for maintenance and I do not have time to come back. Here's some updates beyond the official USN bio that comprises the bulk of the article:
In 1960 Captain Bringle placed USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) in commission. Two years later he went to Aviation Plans before promotion to rear admiral. He assumed command of Carrier Division Seven in April 1964 and, as a vice admiral, he commanded 7th Fleet from 1967 to 1970. Subsequently he served as "ComNavAirPac" in San Diego.
In 1970 Bringle became a full admiral (four-star), posted to London as commander of US Navy forces in Europe. He retired on New Year's Day 1974 after 35 1/2 years of active duty. I knew him, and it is safe to say that very very few four-stars have ever been downright loved as "Bush" Bringle was.
A complete gentleman. He died in March 1999.
Editing I've Done
[edit]Hi There!
I'm new at this. So I don't know how to log the changes I've made to pages nor how to add a public domain photo in my possession to a page that needs one.
So far I have edited the pages for:
Admiral Roy L. Johnson (I have an Official US Navy Photo of him)
Admiral Bernard A. Clarey
Admiral Eugene B. Fluckey
Admiral William F. Bringle
All of the information I added to these pages are from Official Biographies that were produced by the Public Affairs Office of the Commander in Chief US Pacific Fleet. The information is accurate and in the public domain.
