[edit]Was this William Deedes an ancestor - great-grandfather, perhaps - of the journalist and politician Bill Deedes? This one, who had been an MP, died in Saltwood Castle in 1887 - and Bill, an MP and even Minister, was born in 'the family home Saltwood Castle' in 1913; so not unlikely, I suggest. Does anyone know?
