Blaxton?
[edit]I have never seen his name spelled this way. Nothing named after him spells it this way. None of the references spell it this way. Where does this spelling come from? Fedos (talk) 19:20, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Me neither but spelling was a bit fluid in those days and this spelling might reflect an English record. Obviously, additional research is needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.14.134.196 (talk) 11:22, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
OK, so I just looked at the photo of the plaque in Boston and that plaque spells his name as "Blaxton." I just looked at what is listed on Ancestry dot com and nothing they have spells his name this way. It could be that one 17th century author spelled it that way and the spelling stuck in Boston and since his residence in Boston precedes that of Rhode Island the original author of this article decided to spell it this way. I am a bit new to editing articles so I don't know how to edit an article title or I would already have changed the spelling. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.14.134.196 (talk) 11:32, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
