Merger proposal
[edit]The two articles William Beale (college head) and William Beale (priest) present different aspects of the same person. --Lambiam 04:19, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- Support merger - same person. That said, there is little in this article that isn’t already in the “college head” article. As a follow up… do we need the parenthetical disambiguation post merger? Blueboar (talk) 11:50, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
- There is already an article with the title William Beale about a different person, a musician. --Lambiam 22:30, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- Comment, please note that in the article List of Archdeacons of Carmarthen, there is a priest with a very similar name just before our subject: "1616–>1640 William Beeley" , according to British History source this Beely become Archdeacon in 1615 and Beale in 1923. I find rare that the first one held the position just eight years. So possibly we (and the sources) are confusing this two people. Alexcalamaro (talk) 06:40, 28 May 2023 (UTC)
- No confusion; they are the same person:
- William Beale or Beely, collated 3rd Jan. 1614–15. [1]
- It is unclear what source(s) "1616–>1640" is based on. --Lambiam 11:40, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
- No confusion; they are the same person:
- Redirected: I couldn't see unique referenced content. Klbrain (talk) 11:11, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
