Apollo 14

Why did Anders never fly again? Given Deke Slayton's "backup - skip 2 - prime" rotation and the fact that he was on the Apollo 11 backup crew, shouldn't he have flown on Apollo 14? Did he have to make room for Big Al? --Mycroft.Holmes 16:21, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Bill Anders left the NASA at 1st August 1969. Then he was replaced by Ken Mattingly. --Philipp Mevius

They had some disquieting experience onboard the 8 during the journey back to the Earth (http://oak205.wordpress.com/2009/10/16/fat-cottonwoods-rockets-and-road-runners/). 212.188.109.147 (talk) 20:25, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Haley Space Flight Award

Didn't he win the H.S.F.A.? In the most sincere manner, User:aSprigOfFig User talk:ASprigOfFig 01:50, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

I don't know, did he? You're supposed to verify with reliable sources. JustinTime55 (talk) 16:20, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Photo date strangeness

I added the caption "1967 photo" to the official portrait in the infobox, only because the NASA source dates the image to that year. However, by 1967 the Gemini program was over and Apollo was well underway, so it is strange that William Anders would have posed with a model of an obsolete Gemini spacecraft coupled to the Agena Target Vehicle. Moreover, Anders never flew in the Gemini program. I think the photo was more likely taken in 1964 and mislabeled by an archivist at NASA. — QuicksilverT @ 18:35, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
