Added NPOV tag in reference to the last sentence "It is considered unlikely that Stanton will be appointed to the post of Ambassdor, since the US Embassy is Canberra is nearly always occupied by political appointments." It sounds more like an opinion than a fact to me, and needs to be removed or rewritten.--Jfurr1981 04:45, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Which part do think is an opinion and not a fact? If you look at the list of US Ambassadors to Australia over the last 40 years, you will see that all have been political appointments except Marshall Greene, who was a career diplomat. That is the basis on which it was considered unlikely that Stanton would be appointed - as has indeed now been demonstrated. I am removing the tag. Adam 10:17, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move

[edit]

I'm moving this article to William Stanton (diplomat) in order to make a disambiguation page for the name of William Stanton. See also: William Graham Stanton. Thanks! GlassCobra (Review) 11:54, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
