Proposed move to William McCants
[edit]This person seems to be more widely quoted and known as William McCants. Are there any objections to moving the article to that name?
- His book The ISIS Apocalypse was published under the name William McCants.[1]
- His current profile at The Brookings Institution uses William McCants.[2]

On Wikipedia:
- William McCants:
- Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi external links for article by William McCants.[3]
- Báb cites William McCants[4] which uses "William F. McCants". I corrected this WP article to have the citation match the cited article.
- Jarret Brachman sites William F. McCants[5] and William McCants[6] but unfortunately both links are a 404.
- Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant Mention and cites William McCants for his book The ISIS Apocalypse.
- Qutbism cites web-article which uses William McCants several times.[7]
- File:No god but God.jpg sources William McCants which uses William McCants.[8]
- Terrorism and social media mentions and cites William McCants.[9] The cited document is named "Testimony McCants" but does not mention McCant's name. As the document is on https://homeland.house.gov I took a look on that site to get the testimony document in context:
- Subcommittee Hearing: Jihadist Use of Social Media – How to Prevent Terrorism and Preserve Innovation has "Mr. William McCants" and links to the "Testimony McCants" document.
- Updated — A Look Ahead: House Committee on Homeland Security "Mr. William McCants".
- Legislative and Oversight Activities of the Committee on Homeland Security / 112th Congress / Third Quarter "Mr. William McCants"
- Will McCants:
- Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami cites [10] which uses Will McCants.
- Unmanned aerial vehicle cites [11] which uses Will McCants.
- While tracking down a citation used on Terrorism and social media which uses "William McCants" I found two mentions of "Will McCants" on https://homeland.house.gov
- POLITICO: The propaganda war Obama is losing quotes "Will McCants".
- NY Daily News: Al Qaeda bomb-making expert publishes magazine detailing how to make explosives quotes "Will McCants".
Two areas that tilt things towards "Will McCants" are:
- He founded and is active on http://www.jihadica.com/ as "Will McCants" on though his About page on that site uses the name "William McCants".[12]
- he is active on Twitter account using the name "Will McCants".[13]
