Wilkinson Sword vs. Schick inconsistency

This article describes Wilkinson Sword as an "...arm of Schick", whereas the Schick article seems to suggest the reverse.

I think the Protector was a good razor. I remember a marketing campaign along the lines of 'So sharp, it has to be kept behind bars'. Was this the same as the Protector 3D ? Think they may have appeared on the market around 1997. commemorative WW II AAF sword made by Wilkinson Sword in England

My father recently passed, and in his possesions was a Wilkinson Sword he purchased in England. The sword was created as a tribute to the AAF during WW II. It has the Wilkinson sword seal on the blade, with the Queen of Englands seal above it. Also on the blade are engraved many of the more notable aircraft used in WW II. It also has a number on the blade " 0102 ". My father flew missions over Europe, and returned there in the late 90s to see the area where he was stationed, and purchased this sword at that time. I would like to find out about the history of this sword, and its value. I can forward pics if necessary. Please let me know whatever information is available. My email is bugdust584@hotmail.com. Awkward phrase

The description of the Wilkinson Sword Hydro 3 says in part: "but all for a flip trimmer." The meaning is unclear. Perhaps "but for" was intended; if so, replacing "but all for" with "without" would be clearer and more succinct. Billfalls (talk) 16:00, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

Omission of Sudan bayonet scandal?

A huge leap forward for Wilkinson Sword was the scandal concerning bayonets in the Sudan in the 1880s. The existing bayonets were bending and breaking, and this was thought to have caused many deaths of soldiers. To fix this, future contracts for bayonets were re-routed to Wilkinson, which, in one fell swoop, catapulted the company to a much larger size. It's a well-known episode in history, so well-known that I can't remember where I first read about it. If you can find the source, it can be added to the article, although this article is pretty poor all round on the early history of the company. It doesn't mention bladed weapons at all until the 20th century. I'm not sure that it can be true that the Sudan War was the making of Wilkinson Sword. They had become well established as a military supplier a century earlier through the American War of Independence, the French Revolutionary War, and the Napoleonic wars. British Naval Swords and Swordsmanship has some coverage of the sword and bayonet sword scandal in the Sudan. The book says nothing about the effect that had on Wilkinson Sword, although it does mention them much earlier in connection with the Royal Dockyard Battalion for whom they were contracted to supply the equipment.
