Encyclopædia Brittanica

[edit]

After I had written this stub I find the Encyclopædia Britannica has a short entry on Wilhelm Unge at http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/614438/Wilhelm-Unge. They mention aerial torpedos and an improved rocket nozzle. I did not use any of that entry when writing the stub. -84user (talk) 12:27, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Some of his family history is listed in Swedish at http://www.tjocka.nu/heritage/i804.htm#7
    • It appears he married 'Ellen' Selma Eleonora Lundström (born 1860 died 1904) in 1879 and had two sons: Nils Wilhelm Unge born 20 April 1881, died unknown; Bror Wilhelm Unge 14 January 1888, died October 1976 apparantly in Kansas City, USA.
  • First steps toward space, edited by Frederick C. Durant, published by the Smithsonian Institution Press in 1974 contains at page 259 what looks like a 10 page chapter by A. • This Google Scholar search turns up quite a few sources, some in Swedish, and some patents, such as U.S. patent 806,025 and U.S. patent 806,026.
