Suggested sources
[edit]Dear @Deansfa and @X-Editor. Thank you for your work on this article. As an employee of the WMF, and the person specifically responsible for communications about this project, I well understand the importance to not edit the substantive content of this page myself. Nonetheless, as a Wikipedian (@Wittylama) I know there's some extra sources that might be useful for adding facts to the article. I provide these to you as suggested additions:
- You could add that "It was first announced in March 2021" - Independent source, primary source – and then specify that it was launched in October or "later in the same year" - keeping the same footnote you already have.
- If you need extra sources for the initial announcement (March 21, the 'launch' October 21, and the first-customer announcement in June 22), I've put a comprehensive listing here: Wikimedia_Enterprise#Press
- I particularly recommend this reliable-source reference if you wish to add a sentence indicating that Wikimedia content is already freely licensed and that commercial re-use already existed among the biggest companies; and that this service is linked to the Wikimedia strategy of making it easier for smaller commercial reuse too.
Moreover, if anyone wishes to ask questions about the project itself (rather than questions about improving this article), please write over on our talkpage on meta, m:Talk:Wikimedia Enterprise. Sincerely, LWyatt (WMF) (talk) 16:30, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- Followup: you may wish to also include the screenshot of the homepage - which is freely licensed - and on commons at File:Screenshot Wikimedia Enterprise homepage.png (note I've currently got a filemove request in place to change this filename to include the prefix "2022").
