Primary sources tag
[edit]I've added a 'primary sources' tag to this page. We should be relying on secondary coverage and not Wikimedia.org pages. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:27, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
Expanding Wikimania 2023 section
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Well, given that I am part of the organising team for Wikimania 2023, I feel that I am obligated to go through this route of requesting someone else to vet through the proposed entry given the substantial amount of changes to the section.
Request: replace the current Wikimania 2023 content with the following, changes in bold:
Wikimania 2023, the eighteenth edition,[1] was held at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, in Singapore, and online from 16 to 19 August, 2023. It was the first returning in-person event since 2019 and was organized by Wikimedia ESEAP.[2][3] The theme of of the conference was "Diversity. Collaboration. Future".[4] The uses and limitations of generative AI were discussed at length during the conference.[5] A temporary setup of gender neutral toilets for the conference in Suntec at request of its organizers was met with mixed reactions from the local populace.[4][6]

- Partly done The proposed text concerning general neutral toilets was not added because it stated that the addition of the toilets
was met with mixed reactions from the local populace
. Neither of the provided sources for this claim said anything about the mixed reactions coming from the "local" population.[a] Regards, Spintendo 05:59, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
Notes
- ^ One of the sources specifically described the reactions as coming from "netizens" while the other source similarly described the reactions as coming from individuals over the internet. In fact, the only response coming from what was presumably a "local" individual was that made by a spokesperson from the center where the event was held, confirming that "they had temporarily designated the gender-neutral toilet ... at the request of the Wikimania 2023 organisers."
Incoherent video in "2005" section
[edit]Hello, @Rory O'Connor,
I don't understand this video : at 3 min 25, 7 min 43 , 12 min 40, 18 min 35, 25 min 36, the video starts over to the beginning! How annoying for somebody who just wants to enjoy this excellent and valuable short documentary!
Can we all agree this is too bad?
Could anyone reading this help me decide what to do about this? Shoud we re-edit altogether the documentary?
Thank you,
