Bad wording?
[edit]The article says
Dr. Wietse Zweitze Venema (born 1951) is a Dutch programmer and physicist best known for writing the Postfix mail system. He has also written numerous other security related tools, such as....
.
"other security related tools" implies that the "Postfix mail system" is a security related tool as well. However, while the Postfix mail system is considered to be quite a good and secure MTA, it is certainly not a "security realted tool".
Since I'm an exim-guy myselfe and not a postfix-lover, I hesitate to perform a change myself and would like someone else to do this. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.13.72.153 (talk) 14:56, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- He wrote Postfix because he wanted a secure MTA, after concluding that sendmail was a monolith and unfixable for that reason; a completely new design was required. So security is the reason Postfix exists: it is secure software, but it is not security software. Rp (talk) 10:05, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
I think I improved it
[edit]The opening paragraph jumped out at me as well. I made an effort to improve it. Postfix may be my favorite MTA but I doubt that it influences my grammar.
