dash-8-100 replacment is obvious

hello friends, the 100 series (and why not 200) will be replaced within 10 years perhaps (since they just painted some aircraft) by these electric commuter things. they will do higher frequency shorter distance with fewer passenger and quality of service will increase because of denser schedules. read it here first folks! https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/air-transport/2021-03-11/wideroe-goes-electric-tecnams-p-volt

Hello, the solution really wasn't that clear until recently. The problem with these electric commuter aircraft is they are way smaller than the DHC-8-100/200 - they seat only 9 passengers instead of 37-44 like the DHCs - and Widerøe needs a plane of comparable size to replace them. I've actually heard that ATR has been at it with the 48-seat 42 series modifying it to be STOL-capable like the DHCs - perhaps these are viable replacements instead? - PRL Nerd (talk) 21:38, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
