- ... that photographer Whitey Schafer (portrait of Barbara Stanwyck pictured) thought canned sex was better than cold cream? This canned sex, he avers, is far better than cold cream.
- ALT1: ... that photographer Whitey Schafer (portrait of Barbara Stanwyck pictured) used canned sex to make his subjects look like china dolls? The canned sex … is a Schafer innovation … He rubs it on a lady's shoulder to bring out what he calls "china-doll" highlights.

- Comment: There are many hooky facts in this article (died in a yacht explosion, good friends with Bill Boyd), but I picked the ones directly relevant to the picture. Other suggestions welcome. Ironically, there are many PD photos by Schafer (see commons:Template:Publicity still), but none I can find of him.

Overall: Fantastically concise article about a great artist. Wonderfully smouldering image. Is the image truly free to use? No Swan So Fine (talk) 15:28, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, No Swan So Fine. Based on my research and commons:Template:PD-US-no notice, the film still is in the public domain because it does not include a copyright notice and was published between 1926 and 1977. The source is this eBay page, which shows the front and back of the still and no visible copyright notice. Pretty incredible, I agree! AleatoryPonderings (???) (!!!) 15:36, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks - I've amended my review accordingly. No Swan So Fine (talk) 15:37, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
