Object to Deletion proposed on 6 July 2023

[edit]

Added language and citations to demonstrate the significance and long term impact the foundation has had to the study and promotion of yoga. No conflict of interest - I met the founders twenty years ago but have had no connection with them or the foundation since. ----DesertRat16 — Preceding unsigned comment added by DesertRat16 (talkcontribs) 20:41, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Have added more information than original post, hope this is substantial enough to merit inclusion in wikipedia. ----DesertRat16 I'm not trying to annoy the editor/administrators, it just seems like this merits inclusion, don't agree with the scoring of it not being significant. ---- DesertRat16

it looks like an advertisement for your yoga school. WP is an encyclopedia, why is your yoga school important enough to be in it? That's not meant as criticizing, just a hint how to change the article. In the box for speedy deletion are some links to pages that show how to format an article so he meets WP standards. Formally those links are better put as references or weblinks at the end of the article. Categories are a good idea too. But anyways first it would be good to know why that particular school deserves to be in WP. I don't know if theres a yoga portal or such, you might want to find out, but I imagine it would be interesting if a special kind of yoga gets taught and so on. If I talk bs here, don't mind me, I am just a WP noob. :) --Stanzilla (talk) 22:36, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's mentioned by too many books and newspapers.[1][2] - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 19:30, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is a bill [1] HR129 granting 5 acres of land from the national forest to the White Lotus Foundation at fair market value. dkliman (talk) 15:13, 16 July 2009 (UTC). It was approved by the House of Representatives 422-0 (roll call vote number 549 on July 16, 2009). It was amended and approved by the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on June 21, 2010.[reply]
