White City, south of Fort Pierce, got its start after a group of Scandinavian-Americans read about a prototype city at the world's fair called White City. The exhibit also was the inspiration for the Emerald City in the Wizard of Oz.

Area History
[edit]Are there any historians who could be reached out to? This article lacks the historical context of settlement in the area.
