Article Deletion
[edit]This article is nothing to do with a club, there are no clubs involved with it at all. It is about a sports festival that occurs annually on the Isle of Wight. Each year different sports are held and promoted for people to 'have a go'. A music stage is also present, with other stalls selling food, clothing etc. It really is no different to other events on the Isle of Wight such as Cowes Week, Bestival or the Isle of Wight Festival. There is plenty of encyclopedic content that can be added to this article, such as its history. Other interesting content could include its recent growth and controversy, with a possible move to the mainland. Editor5807speak 19:28, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well club was the closest. History might be useful but you need to find some notability for the festival. --Blowdart | talk 19:37, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Another reference now added to the ever growing list. A search on a local newspapers website, the Isle of Wight County Press brings up 11 pages of results. Another search on Google brings up 53,400,000 results. This article is clearly notable, it has been going on for 12 years on the Isle of Wight, there are far less notable articles on Wikipedia. If you asked anyone on the Island they would say they have heard of it, its recieved a huge amount of publicity recently. Its the only event of its kind in Europe, it needs an article. - Agreed. There's been no comment on this and there are a good number of references. I don't see the notability problem. Removing template now... --Peeky44 (talk) 09:04, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
