Should not be deleted

[edit]

The song received an official single release on September 9, 2008. It has charted. The single is a failure which should be noted in the article. A single failure doesn't mean the article should be deleted because it lacks charts. The music video will be released in a couple weeks. Charmed36 (talk) 19:30, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Per Wikipedia:MUSIC#Songs "Most songs do not merit an article and should redirect to another relevant article, such as for a prominent album or for the artist who wrote or prominently performed the song. Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups are probably notable." Under this definition, I don't feel this single meets the criteria for notability. It hasn't won any awards, and there are no "notable" chart listings.
There is also already an article for the album, where some of the info is already included, and perhaps the section on the singles could be expanded? But if you disagree about the notability of the article, feel free to remove the "prod" template. Anyone who disagrees about a prod can remove it. raven1977 (talk) 20:01, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry but this is an official single and currently charting. There are other articles with three or four sentences. They have not been deleted. Charmed36 (talk) 23:35, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is completely unfair to this article and OFFICIAL SINGLE WHICH IS CURRENTLY CHARTING and has a music video. Charmed36 (talk) 23:37, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Music video has been released. Not worth deleting imo. Getluv (talk) 21:43, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The next week after this song was digitally released, it debuted on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart at #108 and fell off the chart after that. I know this as I have a membership to billboard.biz and have regular access to their charts. Whoever keeps changing this number to 100, STOP IT!, especially since I'm citing references and this person has no cite validation. Please and thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by I c u trippin (talkcontribs) 08:22, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This record is no longer an active single. The record label has elected to push "I Hate This Part" to radio. As this record had yet to chart on the Mediabase or BDS Airplay charts, I have boldly redirected the article to the album's article. --Winger84 (talk) 22:08, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it should be redirected. It's still a single. The article should remain. Charmed36 (talk) 22:48, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This record is not a single, per the record label. I'm thisclose to AfD'ing the article. --Winger84 (talk) 19:25, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The song was released to radio and digital outlets. The video was released. If the song is a so-called "digital single" it's still a single. "Per the record label", it's a cover up for the single disappointment. Charmed36 (talk) 02:33, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The mere fact that it was released does not make it notable. The mere fact that a video was made...does not make it notable. AfD#2 goes up later today. --Winger84 (talk) 05:39, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Whatcha Think About That

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Whatcha Think About That's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "UKSales":

  • From Don't Cha: Copsey, Rob (August 22, 2018). "Strictly Come Dancing: Faye Tozer vs. Lee Ryan vs. Ashley Roberts' chart stats". Official Charts Company. Retrieved August 22, 2018.
  • From Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny): White, Jack (October 9, 2017). "Pussycat Dolls' biggest singles on the Official UK Chart revealed". Official Charts Company. Retrieved October 12, 2017.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 10:41, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Final comments and verdict

[edit]
  • Kyle Peake I think I resolved the above issues. Waiting for your feedback!
  • MrHyacinth I did some brief copy editing in areas where issues had inadvertently been edited in, but you still need to change to the Pussycat Dolls in the infobox. Also, make sure to sign posts off in the future, like this... --K. Peake 07:32, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
