Full disclosure - possible conflict of interest

[edit]

In the interest of full disclosure, I work as a security guard at Westfield Southcenter. I am not adding any information in the course of my duties, and I am adding only information that has been released to the public. Doing otherwise would be OR and would violate confidentiality agreements. I intend to clean up this page a bit when the expansion opens. I am doing my best to maintain NPOV and avoid conflict of interest. I am not doing this to promote the mall, but because it's a topic of local interest. -- Jwinters | Talk 19:46, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just did a cleanup of the renovations section and renamed it to "South expansion". This does not mean there is another one in the works, or that I have any insider information (because I don't). It's just the best name I could think of other than "expansion" (since there was a small one in 1993), or "2006-2008 expansion", which is awkward. I'll get a better picture before I leave today and upload it tonight. -- Jwinters | Talk 19:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Size or Scale comparison to other malls

[edit]

Southcenter is the biggest mall in Washington state and possibly a comparison of sizes of malls in WA or the NW will help. I don't have the template thing down and I have school so I won't be of very much help unfortunately (at least until June). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Azemocram (talkcontribs) 06:57, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of shooting

[edit]

If you're going to add the shooting on the basis of notability, you have to add more than 2 sentences (which could be rewritten as one sentence). Be detailed and accurate. The shooting was not in the food court. If you aren't going to add detail to it, then it obviously isn't notable enough to be included. -- 97.113.93.244 (talk) 20:51, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Largest mall in Washington State....I doubt it

[edit]

I really doubt that this is the largest mall in washington state. Alderwood mall in Lynnwood must be bigger. We need qualifiers as to sizes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.183.98.63 (talk) 02:40, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, just look on the wikipedia article on Alderwood mall...1.5 million square feet retail vs. 1.7 million at Southcenter. I agree qualifiers need to be added, but you could at least do basic research. -- 67.42.107.14 (talk) 21:32, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

COI tag

[edit]

This article has been subject to paid editing - please see Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#User:MallExpert. I have put a COI tag on it. The article needs to be reviewed for compliance with WP:NPOV and valid souring per the tag. Once the article is reviewed by independent editors, the tag can be removed - please make a note here if you remove the tag. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 22:05, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Westfield Content Change Request

[edit]

Hello. My name is Erik Even, and I am a Web Producer for Westfield Corporation. We're concerned that many of the Wikipedia pages for Westfield centers have incorrect or outdated information, and even content that is not NPOV.

I have read the rules for Conflict of Interest, and I will not be attempting to make any page edits. I will simply be going into talk pages, and suggesting edits, which the community may then either act on or not. I genuinely appreciate any help you can give.

Our suggested text is below, which is meant to be the first paragraph.

Again, thank you for your help.

Suggested text:

Westfield Southcenter, formerly known as Southcenter Mall, is a 1.7 million-square-foot, three-level indoor shopping mall located in Tukwila, Washington, about 15 minutes from downtown Seattle. It is owned by the Westfield Corporation. Its anchor stores include Sears, Nordstrom, Macy’s, and JCPenney. The center features a 16-screen AMC theater with IMAX.
