Accreditations, et al.

I do not believe that Chris Walla is an alumni of this University; I believe he attended a community college in Bellingham. I'll fix this within a week unless somebody responds. -anonymous user

Chris Walla got his BFA in sculpture at Western in 1997. He attended Whatcom CC as well. See [1] 20:11, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

I do believe that Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie fame is not an art professor at Minnesota-Moorhead.

Public Ivy

The university is known as a Public Ivy, an American term for state-funded institutions of higher learning considered to have academic excellence equal to that of the Ivy League.

This statement is untrue. I'll be removing it. I imagine the person who added this is mistaking the WWU for the University of Washington which is considered a public ivy. 140.160.66.83 21:11, 10 May 2007 (UTC) Joe in Bellingham

School Motto

Does anyone know WWU's actual motto or whether it even has one? I thought it was Active Minds, Active Lives, so I added it to the Wikipedia article, but today I started to really have doubts, especially since Engaged Excellence also seemed to be a highly plausible candidate for a motto, so I removed Active Minds, Active Lives from the Wikipedia article. Athletics

Perhaps someone knowledgeable about the WWU sports teams could create a new Wiki page for the Western Washington Vikings. Much of the material from the Athletics section on the WWU main Wiki page could then be moved onto that page instead. Barryjjoyce (talk) 00:52, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Controversy

Sculpture list

I doubt all the content of the sculpture list is really notable or essential. If there is a separate site with a list of them all, linking to that should be sufficient. I propose that the list of sculptures be removed, though. Thoughts? Uberstadt (talk) 00:04, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
