Accreditations, et al.
I am concerned about the number of external links (see accreditations), when we should be linking within Wikipedia first, right? samwaltz 13:09, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- Fixed! (where appropriate) --Dwiki 19:01, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
I do not believe that Chris Walla is an alumni of this University; I believe he attended a community college in Bellingham. I'll fix this within a week unless somebody responds. -anonymous user
- Chris Walla got his BFA in sculpture at Western in 1997. He attended Whatcom CC as well. See [1] 20:11, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- I do believe that Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie fame is not an art professor at Minnesota-Moorhead.
Public Ivy
The university is known as a Public Ivy, an American term for state-funded institutions of higher learning considered to have academic excellence equal to that of the Ivy League.
This statement is untrue. I'll be removing it. I imagine the person who added this is mistaking the WWU for the University of Washington which is considered a public ivy. 140.160.66.83 21:11, 10 May 2007 (UTC) Joe in Bellingham
The "advert" tag
Hello - An anonymous editor has placed the {{advert}} tag on the article but hasn't specified which part of the article needs help. I've contacted that editor to have them elaborate. If this isn't done within a reasonable amount of time we will remove the tag. E_dog95' Hi ' 03:16, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- Never did hear from the editor that placed the tag. Will remove it... E_dog95' Hi ' 22:09, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
School Motto
Does anyone know WWU's actual motto or whether it even has one? I thought it was Active Minds, Active Lives, so I added it to the Wikipedia article, but today I started to really have doubts, especially since Engaged Excellence also seemed to be a highly plausible candidate for a motto, so I removed Active Minds, Active Lives from the Wikipedia article. Proud Ho (talk) 22:29, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
The new motto is "Active Minds Changing Lives" (see wwu.edu). Jagosti (talk) 22:23, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Reeks of Boosterism
This article reeks of boosterism. Please see the link below:

The article needs to be fixed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.20.74.155 (talk) 01:27, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
Faculty
Here's an easy way to "boost" this article without violating neutrality. create a section for Category:Western Washington University faculty, past and present, as listed here. I agree much of the content here is not notable.(mercurywoodrose)75.61.137.74 (talk) 21:56, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
Ranking
There are new US News & World report rankings.(http://news.wwu.edu/go/doc/1538/825219/U-S-News-Rankings-Show-WWU-as-Top-Public-Master-s-Granting-School-in-Pacific-Northwest) The current ones listed are 2008.Jagosti (talk) 22:31, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Waterskiing
Pretty sure the second paragraph of the waterskiing section is false. Jagosti (talk) 22:31, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Athletics
Perhaps someone knowledgeable about the WWU sports teams could create a new Wiki page for the Western Washington Vikings. Much of the material from the Athletics section on the WWU main Wiki page could then be moved onto that page instead. Barryjjoyce (talk) 00:52, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
Controversy
The president of WWU recently called white students "mediocre" and called for more diversity to replace white students. This should be added into a section on controversy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.78.226.95 (talk) 00:55, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
Sculpture list
I doubt all the content of the sculpture list is really notable or essential. If there is a separate site with a list of them all, linking to that should be sufficient. I propose that the list of sculptures be removed, though. Thoughts? Uberstadt (talk) 00:04, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Of the 31 sculptures in the list, 21 are by artists who have WP articles. --50.53.60.76 (talk) 07:39, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
- An alternative would be a separate article on the WWU sculpture collection. --50.53.32.229 (talk) 05:45, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
