Roadways reason for decline in admissions?
I find myself laughing a bit at the assertions for why WVU Tech has declining admissions: "The school has been beset with declining enrollments for many years. Much of this is due to the completion of good highways in the state, which have made attending WVU's main campus, traditionally the only other school to offer engineering programs, more reasonable for people in southern West Virginia, and to the ongoing development of an engineering program at Marshall University. The legislature founded a "Team for the Revitialization of Tech" in 2007 to develop a plan to restore the school." What highways are they referring to? I-79, I-68, I-77, Route 50, I-64, Route 19 all existed before the merger of the two schools, and I am old enough to remember when I-68 (Formerly US Route 48) was completed. I believe this statement to be opinion and not a legitimate reason for why admissions have declined at the university.
